One of the most beautiful beaches of Piauí

Pedra do Sal beach is the only beach from the city of Parnaíba, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. Located in an River Island (Santa Izabel), the beach is also located inside the APA do Delta do Parnaíba, permanent protection area of the State.

Called Pedral by the locals, the beach is a fisherman area, as many of them leave their boats by the beach, mainly on the east part, after the rocks.

The beach is limited by the first river mouth of the Delta, just across Atalaia beach in Luís Correia, and has a long extension of hard sand (around 7 km) until the Lighthouse. On this area, the sea is strong and many surfers come to enjoy the waves when a swell comes.

After the lighthouse, the sand is more like in the dunes, as so it is until the next Delta river mouth, the beach of Pontal, the most visited beach of the Delta do Parnaíba. In this area the sea is calmer, perfect for kids and for kitesurfers. From there, many downwinds to the Delta start - always with an experienced guide.

Como chegar na Pedra do Sal

The only way to get to Pedra do Sal is through Parnaíba. 

When in the city, drive to the city center to Simplício Dias Bridge, right next to the Porto das Barcas.

Cross the bridge and follow straight until the crossing, here you will take the right, following the signs to  Pedra do Sal.

Terra Patris! tip

Take the opportunity to visit Pedra do Sal when going to the Delta tour! The beach is really close to Porto dos Tatus, from where all the tours leave.
