"Wonderful hosts and beautiful Pousada"

I highly recommend Terra Patris. This was our first visit to the state of Piaui and Barra Grande, and based on our experience at Terra Patris, I hope it is not the last.
1. The location of the Pousada was ideal for us, because it was far enough away from the main part of the village to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough to be a short walk to restaurants and shops. The less trafficked part of the beach is only few minutes away on a sandy street that seems to be traveled as often by carts pulled by a donkey as by motor vehicle.
2. Terra Patris is the perfect place to read a book in comfortable chairs and hammocks near a pool to hop into to cool off. There is an observation tower to climb and get an aerial view of the ocean and the village. There is a large garden area that is a perfect place to do yoga, for instance, as the sun rises. There is a slack line to work on your balance and concentration. There are two entertaining dogs and a cat, including the ever-popular Tom the Labrador. There are interesting decorations and paintings by Marcos that complement the beautiful natural surroundings.
3. Regarding food and juices, if you like papaya, mango, pineapple, watermelon and the like; and fresh made bread and cakes (say, carrot cake topped with chocolate sauce), you will be very happy. There is also yogurt and cheese and granola, etc so that if you are vegetarian (as am I) you will feel right at home.
4. And, most important,, Natalie and Marco are personable hosts. They will help plan your stay and go out of there way to cater to their guests needs upon arrival. Both Natalie and Marco speak English, and I suspect other foreign languages, which is helpful for those visiting from aboard.

If your ability to walk is limited, or if staying right on the beach is your main priority, or if you only feel comfortable in Five Star hotels, then Terra Patris will not suit your needs. For everyone else, it is very, very highly recommended.
